Utility Partners of America Announces Contract Award
Massive 425,000-Strong System Installation Set to Begin Shortly in Cleveland
Utility Partners of America (UPA), one of the nation’s largest utility solutions providers, has been awarded a contract from Itron to deploy a substantial water meter automation project for the Cleveland Division of Water. The initiative will represent more than 425,000 smart meter connections.
UPA specializes in the installation of smart meters, in-home devices and fixed network-based systems, such as the one being introduced in Cleveland. Over a three-year period, UPA will install Itron’s ChoiceConnect™ 100W water modules in the City of Cleveland and surrounding communities. Through its state-of-the-art call center, UPA will also provide technical and customer support throughout the deployment, including advance scheduling and inquiry response.
UPA will manage an installation workforce comprised primarily of locally-recruited individuals, who will receive extensive training on the specific water meter technology deployed, as well as safety and customer service.
The initiative represents one of the largest water meter installation programs in North America.
