Project Manager

The Project Manager manages, controls, and coordinates the activities of an installation team to convert gas, electric, and/or water meters to wireless automated reading equipment. The job requires excellent communication and coordination skills.

Key Duties

  • Develop, execute and monitor project plans, schedules, budgets and status reports
  • Build an effective team, including hiring, counseling, and terminating employees
  • Handle risk assessment and action
  • Utilize best practices to develop and implement tools, policies and procedures
  • Serve as liaison between technical personnel and functional business users in the project environment
  • Conduct meetings and communicate with customers at all levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be familiar with the entire scope and requirements of projects and services
  • BS in Engineering or Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Automated Meter Infrastructure(AMI) knowledge
  • 3-5 years experience in Project Management
  • Experience with large scale meter deployment projects or managing/ coordinating meter installation contractors
  • MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge and intermediate skill level
  • Ability to travel for 4 to 6 week time periods or relocate for long term projects—travel mostly in U.S. but some international travel may be required
  • Excellent customer service and team player skills
  • Must be able to pass MVR, sexual offender and criminal background checks
  • Must be able to pass a DOT drug test at pre-employment and randomly throughout employment, and as required by DOT regulations

Gas, Water or Electric AMR Meter Installation Technician

Individuals in these positions install new automated meter reading (AMR) gas, water or electric meters/indexes to replace existing systems. The roles require good customer service delivery and strong attention to detail.

Key Duties

  • Install new AMR meters/indexes to replace existing systems
  • Install retro-fit meter registers to replace existing systems (water)
  • Program readings into AMR unit using handheld computer
  • Utilize other hand tools such as cell phone and GPS system
  • Accurately read and record meters and meter ID numbers
  • Track personal inventory for balance each day

Requirements

  • Work outside in varying temperature conditions (extreme heat to extreme cold)
  • Work in various inclement weather conditions (rain, sleet and snow)
  • Walk 85% of the work day and drive UPA vehicle 15% of the work day (electric)
  • Lift 25 to 40 lbs
  • Stand, stoop and kneel throughout the day to complete assigned work
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent customer service, communication and team player skills
  • Safe operation of motor vehicle
  • Must be able to pass MVR, sexual offender and criminal background checks
  • Must be able to pass a DOT drug test at pre-employment and randomly throughout employment, and as required by DOT regulations
